Therese van Vuren, responsible for Quality, Occupational Health and Environment (KAM) is proud of the result; “Last year we were proud of Silver, and by working together with all production companies and departments we have taken another big step this year.” Last year, for example, the OPACKGROUP invested heavily in mapping a sustainability dashboard, the OPACKGROUP Academy (OKAY) was established where all employees can take online courses and training, and the IMPACT strategy was launched, mapping sustainability ambitions.

“In addition, we made great strides in sharing our ambitions, and working with our suppliers and customers to expand the sustainable product portfolio even further. For example, during this anniversary year we organized two major events: the congress “Verduurzamen doen we samen” with more than 500 guests and the festival “Circulair Open Air” where we treated more than 1,200 guests and employees in two days to great speakers, inspiration and a plan to take action ourselves. All this in addition to the mini-seminars we organize for customers and interested parties,” says Rob Verhagen, responsible for sustainability within the OPACKGROUP.

IMPACT

Managing Director of the OPACKGROUP Hans Tanger is pleased with achieving Ecovadis Gold. “With the investments made we show that we can really make IMPACT on a sustainable production chain. Moreover, this also prepares us as a company well for the new reporting obligations coming from Europe, such as the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive). With the IMPACT strategy, the OPACKGROUP focuses its sustainable ambitions on six themes: Innovation – Employees – Partners – Ambassadorship – Climate impact – Transparency.
